Objectives
- Enforcement of the provisions of Labour Acts and Rules to ensure healthy working environment conducive to both the workers and the employers in building a brighter and prosperous Meghalaya and ensuring the abolishment of all types of exploitative labour.
- To ensure a steady flow of skilled workers in different trades for the industry, to raise the quality and quantity of industrial production by systematic training of workers, to reduce unemployment among the educated youth by equipping them for suitable employment and providing career guidance to job seekers.
- Enforcement the provisions of the Factories Act, 1948 and Boilers Act, 1923 to oversee the Registration and Inspection of factories as per Act keeping in mind the safety and health aspect of workers and creating awareness among them and ensuring safety of boilers as per the Indian Boilers Regulations 1950.
- Providing quality Medical Care Services and ensure smooth delivery of Medical Benefits to ESI Beneficiaries.
